Multiple fires burning in Hays County, officials say
Multiple fires are burning between FM 150 West in Kyle and Ruby Ranch Rd and FM 967 near Buda. An evacuation notice ended for another fire near Engelke Road in Kyle
HAYS COUNTY, Texas — Hays County first responders are working to put out multiple fires Tuesday afternoon as Central Texas deals with extreme fire weather conditions.
The Hays County Office of Emergency Services (HCOEM) said members of its department and multiple Hays County fire departments are actively working multiple fires in the area between Sage Hill Inn & Spa on FM 150 West in Kyle and Ruby Ranch Rd and FM 967 near Buda.
HCOEM is asking residents to avoid that area and said any evacuation notices related to those fires will be sent through Warn Central Texas.
Meanwhile, the Hays County Sheriff’s Office says the Austin Fire Department is working a large fire in the area of Engelke Road in Kyle. While Hays County Sheriff’s Office issued an evacuation notice Tuesday afternoon, it has since been lifted as Hays County deputies assist the fire department..
